Key factors affecting hydrocarbon accumulation in ancient dolomite gas reservoirs of Xixiangchi formation (Southern Sichuan Basin, China)

چکیده

The Upper Cambrian Xixiangchi Formation in the Southern Sichuan Basin, China, has favorable hydrocarbon accumulation conditions. factors and enrichment conditions of this formation were key considerations study. By analyzing core, thin section, seismic, geochemical data, research shows that there are many sets granular crystalline dolomite reservoirs vertically, with thickness single-reservoir. During transformation karst tectonism, dissolution pores fractures developed to form an ideal reservoir space. is connected Lower source rock through a fault system. high-energy shoal facies located on oil gas migration path, providing appropriate space for forming configuration relationship between lower generation upper reservoir. affecting sufficient supply, development inherited paleo-uplift, effective transportation system, reservoir-forming combination. paleo-uplift controls distribution reservoirs. Owing short distance gas, found near accumulation, slope area should be targeted exploration future studies.

Determination of Time of Oil Cracking into Gas in Weiyuan Paleo-Oil Pool in Sichuan Basin, South China

Weiyuan gas field, located in the Sichuan basin of south China, is a large marine gas field with the oldest reservoir (the Sinian sequences) in south China. The hydrocarbon origin of the gas field has long been debated by petroleum geologists. Recently, it was recognized that a paleo-oil pool maybe the significant contributor to the gas field. Consequently, when the paleo-oil pool had been crac...

Comparison of Three Key Marine Shale Reservoirs in the Southeastern Margin of the Sichuan Basin, SW China

This study performs a comprehensive comparison of three key marine shale reservoirs in the southeastern margin of the Sichuan Basin, and explains why commercial gas production was only achieved in the Lower Silurian Longmaxi (LSL) and Upper Ordovician Wufeng (UOW) formations, but not in the Lower Cambrian Niutitang (LCN) formation. The experimental methods included in situ gas content and gas c...

Litter Accumulation and Nutrient Content of Roadside Plant Communities in Sichuan Basin, China

It is widely recognized that feedbacks exist between plant litter and plant community species composition, but this relationship is difficult to interpret over heterogeneous conditions typical of modified environments such as roadways. Given the need to expedite natural recovery of disturbed areas through restoration interventions, we characterized litter accumulation and nutrient content (i.e....

Review of Well Logs and Petrophysical Approaches for Shale Gas in Sichuan Basin, China

China has vast reserves of shale gas. Currently, shale gas is one of the focuses of the unconventional reservoir. Well logs play an import role in shale gas production, and it is the bridge connecting geology, geophysics and petroleum engineering. In the exploration stage, well logs are used to identify lithology, evaluate the parameters of mineral types and compositions, total organic carbon (...

Numerical Simulation Study on Hydrocarbon Migration of Paleo-reservoirs in Tazhong Oil Field, Tarim Basin, Northwestern China

Tazhong Oil Field located in the center of Tarim Basin is one of the greatest discoveries during the petroleum exploration in Tarim Basin. The course of many years for hydrocarbon exploration and development has proved that there existed a much larger ancient reservoir than present-day reservoir and residual oil section below present WOC is of obvious characteristics of water displacement. Stud...
